Ava arrives to see Sonny, who immediately asks what she did to make Ethan leave. She insists she did absolutely nothing. They had been enjoying themselves at the pool when he suddenly vanished. Ava says she has no idea where Ethan is, and if she did, she’d slap him across the face. She reveals that Ethan contacted her from a burner phone, telling her he had left and wasn’t coming back. Before she could give him a piece of her mind, he ended the call.
Ava then wonders if Sonny is actually the reason Ethan disappeared. Now that Drew is back on his feet and likely to come after Michael again, did Sonny order Ethan to eliminate the former Congressman?
Tracy Gives Brook Lynn Yet Another Warning
In the Quartermaine kitchen, Tracy finds out Phoebe has officially been adopted. Brook Lynn tells her she’s disappointed Tracy missed the special occasion. Tracy explains she was occupied arranging a three-night trip to New York. Brook Lynn refuses to go, recognizing it’s really about Curtis’ trial, which begins today, and her involvement in the accident.
They revisit the same discussion they’ve had many times before. Brook Lynn believes that if she had confessed sooner, Curtis never would have blamed Isaiah and attacked him. Tracy insists Curtis’ temper is the real issue and reminds her granddaughter that she didn’t even know about the accident until much later. She urges Brook Lynn to think about everything she would lose by telling the truth. She could lose Trina as an artist, possibly Gio as well, and definitely Chase, who would never trust her again.
Lucy Assigns Serena a New Task
At Bobbie’s, Lucy tells Serena that one of her informants at The Metro Court spotted Michael there. She wants Serena to choose her most eye-catching swimsuit, head over, and charm Michael. Lucy cautions that Michael is clever, so Serena will have to be even smarter. Serena accepts the challenge and leaves.
Soon afterward, Felicia arrives after Lucy called her because she feels guilty about using Serena to gain access to Michael and the Deception shares Maxie left in his possession. Felicia believes Lucy is being too hard on herself, pointing out that Serena made her own decision to help her mother. Lucy admits she believes Michael could be an ideal match for Serena.
Another Chaotic Day at the Pool
Michael is relaxing by the pool with Jacinda when Willow shows up with Wiley. Wiley asks his father to swim with him, leaving Willow and Jacinda alone. Willow tells Jacinda that since she and Drew are finished and her living situation is changing, she doesn’t think it’s healthy for her children to be around Jacinda anymore. She orders her to stay away.
Moments later, Wiley runs over and invites Jacinda to swim with them, but she explains she needs to change for work. After Wiley runs off, Jacinda tells Willow she should consider choosing peace for once.
Willow takes a seat, and Jack arrives to discuss her terrible plan to reopen Drew’s shooting case. Willow argues that all the evidence points toward Michael, but Jack warns they can’t risk Anna recovering the traffic camera footage. Willow insists the gamble is worthwhile. (Has she forgotten that Kai and Trina know what really happened? Or that Drew would obviously have to testify if there were another trial?)
Michael rejoins Jacinda, and together they notice Willow talking with Jack. Michael remarks that Willow getting close to a WSB agent probably won’t end well for him. Just then, Jacinda receives a text telling her to return to the office, so she leaves.
Meanwhile, Willow tells Wiley it’s time to get out of the pool because they’re heading back to Grandma Nina’s house. At that moment, Serena makes her entrance.
More Turmoil in the Courtroom!
Inside the courthouse, Martin speaks with Molly and learns Justine is out of town, leaving Molly to handle the case. She explains that she intends to disclose her connections to both Jordan and Curtis and remain completely transparent.
Martin attempts to persuade her to drop the case and instead offer Curtis six months of community service along with mandatory anger management. He points out that everyone involved is practically family, and this case could destroy those relationships. Molly reminds him that assault is still against the law.
Outside the courtroom, Isaiah and Portia arrive together, with Portia making it clear she fully supports him. Curtis and Jordan also arrive, bringing everyone face to face. Isaiah urges Curtis to avoid all the trouble by accepting the plea deal, but Curtis refuses because he won’t miss the first eight months of his child’s life.
Lucas and Joe then arrive. Lucas encourages both men to step back from the confrontation. Isaiah agrees Lucas is right and heads inside with Portia. Jordan and Curtis follow. Joe compliments Lucas for calming the situation. The two discuss the fact that both will testify since Joe was the arresting officer while Lucas treated Isaiah in the ER that night. Lucas says it’s heartbreaking because everyone involved is fundamentally good. Joe seems unable to take his eyes off Lucas.
Back inside, Molly warns Isaiah that Martin will try to provoke him into losing his temper, which could damage their case. At the same time, Jordan urges Portia to tell the truth for Dez’s sake—that the incident spiraled out of control and both men shared responsibility. Portia refuses to let Curtis shift the blame for his actions onto Isaiah. She says she will tell the truth.
The trial begins with opening statements from both Molly and Martin. Molly describes the car accident as a distraction, arguing that the real issue is an assault that caused severe bodily injury. Martin counters by portraying Isaiah as someone who fled the scene of an accident, arguing that if he had stopped, Jordan could have received help much sooner. He also claims Isaiah provoked Curtis that day at the pool and therefore bears responsibility.
Lucas is the first witness, testifying about Isaiah’s injuries and what caused them. Joe follows, explaining everything he observed and overheard while acknowledging that he arrived after the assault had already taken place. Martin argues that Joe exceeded his authority by arresting Curtis instead of attempting to calm the situation.
At last, Portia is called to testify...
In the Show’s Final Moments
Lucy tells Felicia that both Serena and Michael have experienced plenty of romantic disappointments. She believes it’s fate that Alan’s grandson might fall for her daughter and says Serena would make the perfect Quartermaine. She even imagines Serena wearing her own red wedding dress.
At the pool, Serena watches Michael say goodbye to Wiley. Willow tells Michael to ask Jacinda what they discussed and whether she can be trusted. Michael jumps into the water, and Serena walks over to claim a chair beside him... only to slip on a wet spot and land directly in Jack’s lap.
Sonny firmly tells Ava he never asked Ethan to do anything to Drew and warns her not to push him.
Tracy tells Brook Lynn to learn from everything that happened and keep this secret forever if she wants to preserve her family. Phoebe begins crying through the baby monitor, and Brook Lynn promises she’ll protect her family, meaning Chase can never learn what she did.
Outside the courthouse, Lucas checks on Joe after the emotional proceedings, but Joe assures him he’s okay. Lucas tells him, for the record, that he doesn’t believe Joe made a mistake by arresting Curtis.
Finally, Portia testifies that Isaiah was trying to leave The Metro Court that day, but Curtis continued provoking him until he finally lost control and struck Isaiah. Molly also gets Portia to explain that Isaiah’s injury could end his career and that only a small handful of surgeons possess the skills he has.
Molly brings up the young boy Isaiah was unable to operate on, and Portia says countless future patients could die because of Curtis’ actions. Objection! Calls for speculation! Okay, Martin didn’t actually say that, but he probably should have!
Martin then begins his cross-examination by asking how long Portia and Curtis had been married before she started sleeping with Isaiah.
On the next General Hospital, Michael tells Serena there’s one major obstacle she’ll have to overcome. Willow tells Nina this is the strongest position she has ever been in. Dante asks Sonny, “If Jason is walking away, who will be standing in front of you?” Tracy asks Jason, “What am I supposed to expect? Good news, bad news, pack a bag, or hide a body?”
