Nearly 40 years after her final appearance on The Young and the Restless, Brenda Dickson has found herself at the center of an entirely different kind of drama. According to TMZ, the original cast member was arrested on July 9 for misdemeanor battery before being released on her own recognizance.
The outlet did not identify the alleged victim or explain their relationship to Dickson, who portrayed the troublemaking Jill Foster Abbott from 1973-80 and again from 1983-87. However, in a later Instagram Story, she addressed the situation herself, saying that “they arrested me” after responding to “a false claim that I slapped someone.”
When the actress departed the soap, she filed a $10 million lawsuit against Columbia Pictures Television in an attempt to regain her frontburner role, which Jess Walton took over in 1987. In her memoir, *My True Hidden Hollywood Story*, Dickson alleges she had an affair with *Young & Restless* co-creator William J. Bell and claims he used “Mafia cartel judges and attorneys” to blacklist her in Hollywood. (According to IMDb, she has no acting credits after 1987.)
More recently, Dickson has been involved in legal disputes concerning her condominium and personal belongings. Returning to court on July 21, she said in an Instagram video (which you can watch below), “There oughta be a law against” being put out on the street the way that she was.
