Sally has plenty on her plate these days… Not only is she pregnant, she’s also planning to marry the father of her child. She knows Billy’s family quite well, yet he doesn’t know hers — but that’s all about to change next month when the bride-to-be’s grandmother Shirley and sister Coco arrive in Genoa City.
Longtime viewers of The Bold and the Beautiful have already had the pleasure of meeting Shirley and Coco, but for those who haven’t, here’s everything you need to know about the extended Spectra clan…
Who Plays Shirley and Coco
Former Days of Our Lives star Patrika Darbo (ex-Nancy) will reprise the role she originated and first played back in February 2017. Though Courtney Grosbeck initially appeared as Coco later that same month, newcomer Ashley Campbell will take over the role when both characters return to the daytime canvas in October.
Who Are Sally’s Relatives
We’ve already established that Shirley is Sally’s grandma and Coco is her sister, but how were they introduced over on sister soap Bold & Beautiful? Well, back in 2017, Sally received a call from the great Sally Spectra, after whom she was obviously named, urging her grandniece to save Spectra Fashions. Just as Sally agreed and hung up, her grandmother showed up and the two headed over to the empty building where Forrester’s biggest rival used to be located.
After deciding right then and there to revive Spectra, the two got to work creating a line, which ended up receiving a terrible review in Eye on Fashion. That’s when Coco entered the scene and Sally privately told her grandmother that they needed Coco to be a spy at Forrester. Her sister eventually got an internship — and unknowingly did Sally and Shirley’s dirty work by being tricked into wearing a piece of jewelry with a hidden camera. And in true Spectra fashion — pun intended — Sally stole Forrester’s designs and used them for their own show (a chip off the old block!). Coco, who had since been in a relationship with and fallen for R.J. Forrester, was absolutely devastated.
How Shirley and Coco Left the Canvas
Then, as they say, all good things must come to an end (and, really, who can compete with the Forresters?!)… The Spectras left the canvas with Coco departing first, followed by Shirley and ultimately Sally exiting as well.
Now that Sally has been front and center in storylines on Young & Restless since 2020, the same year she left Los Angeles for Genoa City, it will be interesting to see her family back in the mix. Stay tuned!
