Today on The Young and the Restless, Jack comes through for Billy, Noah hatches a plan to restore Matt's memory, and Victor asks the impossible.
At Society, Sally and Billy plan their wedding with an app and ponder their honeymoon. Jack joins them as they kiss. Their happiness gives him hope. He tells his ex-girlfriend how thrilled the entire Abbott clan is to welcome her into the family as his brother’s wife and assures her that she deserves all the good coming her way.
After Sally’s left for work, Billy tells Jack how much it means that he can support him when his own life is falling apart. Jack loves his brother and knows the best way out of sadness is to see the joy in others. He admits he’s worried that Patty may have had something to do with Diane’s disappearance and explains that he’s hired a PI to find her just to make sure she’s okay.
Noah Hatches a Plan
At the ranch, Nick rejoins his family, who notice that his hands are beaten up. He admits he hates Matt and wanted to end him, but all he can see is a “scared dude,” not the monster he’s dreamed of killing. Sharon wonders how someone good can co-exist within someone so evil. When Noah arrives, his father confirms that the amnesia is real. Noah has an idea for how they can remind Matt of who he is.
Once Noah exits with Nick and Sharon, Victor strolls in. Nikki and Victoria fill him in on Noah’s plan and he hopes it works. He makes it clear that he plans to oversee Nick’s recovery. When Nikki thanks her husband for tipping her off that Nick was in the hospital, he shrugs it off. Victoria wishes her parents would stop acting like “polite strangers” and talk. They are tearing the whole family apart. Victoria leaves them alone to talk and Nikki asks her husband if there is any way to put their conflict in the past.
Nick’s Doubts
Noah brings Nick and Sharon to the replica of The Shadow Room he’s had built in Genoa City during his spare time. (Much like Cane’s train, it was clearly a set from which they needed to get their money’s worth). Noah’s convinced that bringing Matt their will jog his memory… and then they’ll be able to get retribution. Nick’s certain Matt will revert to type the second he remembers… he hasn’t been reformed at all.
Back at the ranch, Matt weeps in the Newman gym. Seeing the heavy bag, he starts hitting it, asking who he is. Nick interrupts and takes credit for Noah’s idea, announcing that he has a plan to help Matt recover his memories.
Pep Talk
Audra meets with Sally at the cafe in the park. The redhead can’t shake the worry that the other shoe will drop and things will go wrong for her (which is surely foreshadowing that something bad could happen). Audra, suddenly the wise-woman despite her dismal track record, counsels that things could fall apart, but what counts is who you choose to share your success or failure with. Sally agrees, and she’s glad she chose Billy and Audra.
Operation Jog Matt’s Memory
Sienna is startled when she walks into the club because it looks so much like the original (little does she know it is the original). Noah hopes it will be enough to trigger Matt’s memories so they can all get closure. Sienna worries that it could backfire. Nonetheless, Nick brings Matt in. They inform him he’s in a copy of his club in L.A… the one he used as a front for his drug operation.
The Final Scenes
At the outdoor cafe, Audra is wowed by Sally’s stunning wedding designs and hopes Billy knows how lucky he is.
At Society, Billy tells Jack he feels like he’s on a “lucky streak”. Jack confirms that he will stand up for Billy at his wedding. He’s proud of the man he’s become… Billy’s baby has hit the “jackpot” with his parents. Egad, these gambling metaphors cannot be a good sign!
At the ranch, Nikki asks Victor how they can put the conflict behind them. She’ll do anything. “Give up your friendship with Jack Abbott,” he challenges, adding, “It’s either him, or me.” With that, he walks out. Nikki bolts up, fuming, but is stopped in her track by the pain in her head. She downs some pills as she steadies herself.
Back at the nuShadow Room, Matt slowly walks through the club and flashes of memory start to hit him. Unsurprisingly, there’s a twist… all he remembers being attacked and threatened by everyone in the room and Victor. Sharon, Nick, Noah, and Sienna ask what he’s remembering. Matt doesn’t say anything, and just stands there looking shocked.
