At Forrester, Carter tells Ridge that he and Steffy will be tied up in Monaco handling the fallout from what Logan did. Ridge takes the opportunity to check in on Carter’s fertility struggles. Carter gruffly replies, “I’m fine,” before admitting he has to stay strong for Daphne.
Carter sadly reflects on how he and Daphne had pictured a home filled with children. In their hearts, they had already fallen in love with them. Ridge assures him that parenthood is still possible. Carter admits it’s difficult to believe that right now because the treatments have such low success rates. Ridge reminds him there are other paths, including surrogacy or adoption. Carter sighs that it’s simply not the future they had imagined. Ridge pulls him into a hug.
Don’t Give Up
In the design office, Daphne asks Dylan to meet with her and reveals that Electra wants her back as her assistant. Dylan admits something happened between them, and she fears their friendship may never recover.
Daphne learns they’ve had another falling out and encourages Dylan not to give up on their friendship. Dylan says the decision isn’t hers anymore… she doesn’t think Electra will ever look at her the same way again.
Later, Carter catches up with Daphne, who admits she’s burying herself in work. She sadly confesses that she feels she can’t give him the future they had dreamed of.
Too Good
At the Forrester mansion, Eric reminds Electra once again that Forresters and Spencers simply don’t mix (drink!). Electra paces nervously while RJ tells his grandfather he’s convinced they no longer have to worry about Will… Electra finally seems to have accepted that.
Before leaving for work, Eric repeats that Electra is far too good for Will. After he’s gone, RJ tells Electra he knows about what happened between Dylan and Will. It’s obvious, he says, that her ex didn’t care if he hurt her. “You deserve better than that.”
When Eric arrives at Forrester, he updates Ridge on Bill Spencer’s son breaking Electra’s heart once again. Meanwhile, out in the hallway, Dylan scrolls through photos of Bill’s mansion and yacht on her phone, quietly admiring them as she murmurs, “What a family. What a life.”
House of Depression
At the beach house, Will is wallowing in misery when Katie drops by and is horrified by the state of the place. He laments that Electra has left him for good. Katie then learns that, on top of everything involving RJ and Eric, Electra also discovered he had been with someone else.
Katie blurts out, “You slept with someone?!” Will quickly explains that they only kissed before falling asleep on the couch. Katie is stunned and demands to know how that happened. Will reminds her that Electra had already ended things with him. He was falling apart when Dylan came over and listened to him. Katie gasps, “Electra’s best friend?!” She immediately launches into a lecture, questioning every detail of what happened between him and Dylan while Will continues mourning the loss of Electra.
The Final Scenes
Back in the design office, Carter assures Daphne that whatever life throws at them, they’ll face it together. Daphne wonders how she’s supposed to cope and admits she doesn’t want false hope. Carter reminds her that she is his whole world and his future. There are still options ahead of them. Daphne struggles to believe it, but Carter holds her close. “Our love will get us through this.”
In the main office, Eric tells Ridge that he made it perfectly clear to Electra that Will can no longer be part of her life. The two of them agree that RJ appears to have fallen in love with her.
At the Forrester mansion, RJ promises Electra he’ll stand by her every step of the way and assures her that things will get better. He wraps her in a comforting embrace.
Meanwhile, at the beach house, Will insists to his doubtful mother that Dylan isn’t the problem. Katie urges him not to give up on Electra and warns him to stay away from her best friend. Will argues that Dylan is his friend too. Katie replies, “She knew you were vulnerable.” As Will struggles to catch his breath, Katie gently reassures him, “Take a breath. You’re OK.” Just then, Bill calls Will into work, leaving Katie behind to tidy up.
Moments later, Dylan arrives at the beach house and walks inside. Katie stops her immediately. “Excuse me. Can I help you?” Dylan apologizes, explaining that she thought Will was home. Katie realizes she’s the woman who came between Will and Electra and destroyed their relationship. Stepping closer, she angrily declares, “My son is devastated.” She insists she knows exactly what Dylan has done—and what she’s trying to do. “I can see right through you… Melissa.”
