Hoping for a solution, she schedules an appointment with Carlton, asking whether his plastic surgery expertise could help remove the scars from her operation. Carlton gently explains that there isn’t anything they can do at this point. Overwhelmed, Eva breaks down, admitting she no longer feels connected to her own body. “I need to feel like myself again!”
She returns home and starts packing away her crop tops and every outfit that reveals her scars. Leslie arrives and gives her daughter the encouragement she desperately needs, telling her, “Lean on your mama and lean on your man, and you take whatever punches this world hands you!”

While Tyrell is busy thinking of ways to spend more time with Jessica, his girlfriend begins worrying that she’s losing her sense of self in their relationship. Tyrell clashes with his dads, who fear he’s getting in too deep. After storming out of the house, he ends up at Orphey Gene’s, where Jessica ultimately tells him they should end their relationship... effective immediately! After returning home, Samantha speaks with Smitty and Martin about her brother’s habit of becoming overly attached to people because of everything they endured growing up. Moments later, she receives a text from Jessica revealing that she and Tyrell have officially broken up.

Nicole runs into Carlton at the club, and he pretends not to have noticed her with Kial the previous day. Leslie, however, is quick to point out that Carlton may get Nicole during the day at the club, while Kial clearly gets her nights. Looking for someone to confide in, Nicole turns to Anita, who is already wrestling with concerns about how her recovery could affect the Articulettes’ recording plans. Nicole insists that after Ted’s betrayal, she’s finished with love and intends to keep things casual. Even so, she admits she’s beginning to feel it’s finally time to make a choice. Carlton has always represented the safe path, while Kyle gives her the freedom to relax and have fun. Anita suggests that what Nicole really needs is a deadline. Taking the advice to heart, Nicole declares that by this time next week, she’ll have made her decision.
What Secret Is Andre Keeping?
Vernon is far from pleased when he runs into Leslie at the club, especially after learning that work on her “shouse” is about to resume. He encourages her to sell the property and think about moving away, but Leslie firmly refuses, insisting she won’t be pushed aside and has no intention of leaving. Their confrontation grows increasingly heated until Izaiah steps in and successfully calms Leslie down. Later, Andre turns to Ted for guidance, asking whether he should finally confess whatever secret he has been hiding from Dani. Ted’s advice is straightforward: tell the truth and trust that whatever happened in the past doesn’t have to define what he and Dani share now.
