Jason and Sonny Tearfully Part Ways — and Trina’s Stalker Targets [Spoiler]

Ric notices Liz and Dante talking about softball in the park. He walks over and jokes that Dante’s advice probably isn’t helping much considering the PCPD has been on a losing streak. Dante replies that he believes they’ll be taking the trophy back from Corinthos Coffee this year, but Ric doubts it now that Dante is the team’s new pitcher.

Ric invites Liz to grab something to eat, but she explains she has an early morning and needs to head home. He says that’s fine, and they make plans for a date on Wednesday instead. After sharing a kiss, Ric heads off.

After Ric leaves, Dante and Liz discuss the secret they’ve been keeping. Dante reveals that Anna figured everything out about Rocco but chose not to pursue it. He still feels guilty for using his position for personal reasons, but Liz reassures him that he shouldn’t regret protecting Rocco. She doesn’t regret helping him either. Dante admits she’s the only person he can talk to about it and the only one who has always been honest with him. Liz promises she always will be.

Simon Makes a Discovery

Simon meets Brook Lynn at The Surf Lodge and tells her he has exciting plans for Trina and Gio. Curious, he asks where she discovered Trina, and Brook Lynn explains she first noticed her during last year’s Nurses Ball. At the time the opportunity wasn’t right, but now that Trina has graduated from college (apparently off-screen), the timing is perfect. Simon asks where the pair are, and Brook Lynn tells him they’re on their way.

Meanwhile, Gio, Trina, Kai and Emma are at Emma’s place playing board games. Joss excuses herself, claiming she has work to do, though she’s actually out jogging in the park. Their game is interrupted when Brook Lynn calls Gio about his meeting with Simon, which both he and Trina had completely forgotten. They invite Kai and Emma to join them, but Emma stays behind to clean up.

At The Surf Lodge, Gio, Trina and Kai arrive. Kai introduces himself and offers Simon a handshake, prompting Simon to remark, “We have a problem.”

Simon steps aside with Brook Lynn, leaving the others confused. He had assumed Trina and Gio were a couple, but Brook Lynn explains they’re simply close friends. Simon reveals that the entire marketing campaign was built around presenting them as a young couple in love. He instructs Brook Lynn to convince them to go along with the idea.

Elsewhere in the park, Joss continues jogging when sudden pain strikes. She flashes back to being shot on Spoon Island but forces herself to shake off the memory and keep running.

Joss Has a Warning for Jack

Nina arrives at Jack’s office intending to accept his dinner invitation, but he explains he can’t tonight because he’s waiting for an important phone call. As they chat, Jack says he doesn’t want their relationship to end the way things did with Carly. Nina replies that a good place to start would be never comparing her to Carly again.

Their conversation is interrupted when Joss walks in and catches them sharing a close moment. Nina wonders what Joss is doing there, and Jack reveals that Joss is an agent. Nina realizes she’s among the last to know. After Nina leaves, Joss warns Jack that Nina is a major liability. She launches into a tirade about everything Nina has done to her family, but Jack cuts her off sharply, shouting, “That’s enough!”

Carly and Anna Both Get Unexpected Surprises

At The Metro Court Gardens, Anna unexpectedly sees Carly and Valentin passionately kissing while Peter mocks her by pointing out that Valentin seems too occupied to rescue her now. As Anna turns to leave, she bumps into a server, who drops a tray of utensils and draws everyone’s attention.

Anna approaches Carly and Valentin, embarrassed by the scene. They invite her to join them, though she feels awkward since they’re obviously celebrating. Valentin explains that his assets have been unfrozen. Anna blurts out, “You just got your freedom back and are throwing it away? You fool!”

She assumes Valentin blackmailed the WSB, but he insists he reached a legitimate agreement with Jack Brennan. Anna reminds him the WSB never truly lets anyone walk away. Disturbed, Carly takes this as proof that people really can leave the organization and believes Joss will eventually do the same. Anna quietly says it may already be too late for Joss.

Anna apologizes for what Jack did to Joss and admits she has known about Joss working for the WSB since last summer. She explains that’s why she sent Jason to The Five Poppies—to protect her. Carly isn’t thrilled that Anna knew about her daughter before she did, though Anna understands why. She insists that if she had known Joss was considering joining, she would have done everything possible to stop her.

Carly thanks Anna for trying to help Joss but continues believing her daughter will eventually walk away from the WSB. Valentin gives Anna a subtle look encouraging her to support Carly’s optimism, and Anna reluctantly says perhaps she’s right. She excuses herself so they can continue celebrating before quickly departing.

Carly remarks that the encounter was unexpected and says Anna showed Joss a level of compassion few others have. Valentin agrees but senses something deeper is going on. He believes Anna has endured too much and still hasn’t escaped Faison’s shadow.

Nina then arrives, and Valentin thanks her for helping him regain access to his finances, believing her relationship with Jack made it possible. He warns that if she keeps seeing Jack, she’ll regret it.

Anna returns home to find Emma cleaning up. Emma suggests they spend the evening watching a movie together, and Anna happily agrees. When Emma asks about her day, Anna mentions running into Carly and Valentin and discussing Joss. Emma says she can’t imagine dedicating her life to the WSB, which pleases Anna.

Jason’s Out!

At Sonny’s place, Sonny is stunned when Jason announces he’s quitting. Sonny offers him some time off, but Jason explains he’s leaving for good. Asked why, Jason recounts everything that happened the day he was taken away—the look on Rocco’s face after Jason shot Cullum to save him and Danny’s expression as the WSB hauled him away. In that moment, something inside him broke, and he vowed to change.

Sonny reminds Jason they’ve discussed him getting out before. Now that Sidwell and Cullum are both gone, he argues the danger has passed. Jason replies that he can’t keep sacrificing himself for Sonny anymore. He doesn’t want to kill again and needs to leave before Danny decides to follow the same path. Sonny admits Danny already approached him looking for work and revenge, but he turned him down.

Jason says Danny will soon be an adult, and these remaining years are his last real chance to be a father. Sonny asks what he plans to do next, but Jason doesn’t know yet. He reflects on how Sonny took him in, became the brother he desperately needed, and changed his life. Jason says he hopes Sonny can give him his blessing.

In the Show’s Final Moments

Ric continues secretly watching Dante and Liz together in the park, clearly consumed by jealousy.

Jack tells Joss he has no interest in hearing about Nina’s past or discussing his personal life with her. He says he’ll overlook what she said because the WSB taught him that anyone who wants a personal life has to keep it completely separate from the work that matters most.

Valentin tells Nina he believes Jack is only using her because she’s his ex and warns that he doesn’t want to see her get hurt. Nina thanks him for reminding her why they’re no longer together before storming away. Carly laughs and tells Valentin that was entertaining.

Emma realizes they’re out of popcorn and heads to the store. Peter appears before Anna and warns that she has to protect Emma. Anna insists Valentin will help her, but Peter says Valentin has already moved on. He claims Britt intends to use Emma to get to Anna. Anna vows she won’t allow that to happen, and Peter replies that only she can stop Britt.

Sonny gives Jason his blessing, reminding him he has always had it. He says Jason has always been his brother, and that will never change. The two embrace, both overcome with emotion, before Jason walks away.

Brook Lynn explains to Gio and Trina that Simon mistakenly believed they were a couple and planned to market them that way. Both refuse to fake a romance, and Brook Lynn assures them Simon simply needs time to come up with another strategy.

The episode ends with the unsettling board covered in cut-out photos of Trina. The camera shifts to a laptop displaying a picture of Trina by the pool. Someone scrolls through several images before stopping on one featuring Kai beside her. They highlight Kai and, in an instant, delete him from the photo. It’s exactly the kind of image Simon wanted—but that almost seems too obvious. So who is really stalking Trina?

On the next *General Hospital*, Alexis meets with Brook Lynn and Chase to discuss an important decision. Trina thanks Ava for her generous offer but says she can’t accept it. Willow tells Nina and Obrecht that reopening the investigation would be in the PCPD’s best interest. Meanwhile, with Joss standing beside her, Carly tells Michael, “Speaking of surprises, Joss has big news!”
