At the ranch, Nikki and Victor return to the main house after taking a walk around the property. Nikki says she never wants to take everything she has for granted again. Both of them remain deeply concerned about the struggle Nick is facing. As the conversation turns to business, Nikki admits she’s pleased Lily regained control of Chancellor. She says the way Lily had been treated never sat well with her.
Nikki and Victor agree that they want to leave old grudges behind and simply enjoy the future together. Laughing, they promise not to let anyone find out they’re becoming soft. Nikki even admits she’s grateful to both Matt and Phyllis for helping save their son. Together, they smile as they consider what lies ahead.
After their grandchildren stop by with flowers, Nikki suggests they take a trip to Venice and let the younger generation handle things for a while. To her surprise, Victor immediately asks when they can leave.
Shivers
At the rehab clinic, Nick is trapped in a nightmare. He tosses and turns, muttering that Sharon and Noah need to be careful because “he’s coming.” In the dream, he rushes into Crimson Lights calling out for them, but he's wracked with pain and can't stop himself from consuming several baggies of fentanyl.
Still caught in the nightmare, Nick hears Sharon let out a horrifying scream. He looks up to find her kneeling beside Noah's lifeless body on the floor. Sharon tells him their son is dead. Nick failed to protect them. As Sharon pounds on his chest in despair, Nick jolts awake, trembling uncontrollably.
Victoria Urges Kyle to Make Peace
At the Athletic Club, Victoria invites Kyle to join her for lunch and happily reveals that Nikki’s eyesight has returned. In return, Kyle shares that Jack is recovering and that his parents have reunited. Victoria hopes everyone can finally move beyond the darkness, but Kyle isn’t nearly as optimistic. She encourages him to let go of the feud before it consumes him.
Kyle makes it clear that his family has no intention of letting Victor escape the consequences of what he’s done. Victoria continues encouraging a truce, but Kyle refuses to consider it. He also admits he can’t understand why Victor’s own family keeps forgiving him.
Victoria warns that continuing the war will ultimately destroy Kyle as much as anyone else. The discussion goes in circles until Kyle admits he simply can’t let go of his anger, adding that she probably wouldn’t react any differently if she were in his position. Victoria believes Victor has genuinely changed after everything he’s recently endured and insists he’s no longer seeking revenge. She hopes that one day their generation will finally end the conflict their fathers began.
Sharon Gets Two Shocks
Outside Crimson Lights, Sharon is startled when someone approaches from behind and suddenly covers her eyes.
She’s thrilled to discover it’s Mariah. Mariah explains that her doctors gave her a clean bill of health that morning. Her first stop was to see Tessa, who welcomed her with open arms. Reconnecting with Aria proved a little more challenging at first, but after they spent time playing together, everything fell back into place. Mariah knows she still has a great deal to make up for and is committed to doing the work. She can hardly believe she’s finally emerged from the darkness and returned to her family.
Noah then arrives, and he and Sharon fill Mariah in on everything involving Matt Clark. Mariah acknowledges that she has done terrible things herself, yet her family still forgave her. Fortunately, Sharon and Noah remind her that what she did is nothing like Matt’s crimes.
Without warning, Noah announces that he and Sienna have decided to move back to Los Angeles. Sharon is stunned. Noah explains that he doesn’t want to risk another confrontation with Matt because he’s afraid of where it might lead. Mariah understands his decision. Sharon may not like it, but she also understands, especially since she refuses to believe Matt has truly changed.
Jack and Diane Mull Revenge
At the outdoor café, Jack and Diane receive a call from Burrow with an update that Markham has been captured and Patty has been transferred to a maximum-security facility. They’re relieved by the news. Although it should be a reason to celebrate, both admit all they can think about is getting revenge on Victor. In the end, they try to resist that temptation. Diane urges Jack to focus instead on enjoying the life they have together.
The Final Scenes
Back at Crimson Lights, Noah assures Sharon and Mariah that he already has a plan in place for the management of The Shadow Room and that he has no intention of staying away forever. He hopes that by the time he returns, Matt will be gone and Nick will have fully recovered.
At the rehab clinic, Nick resists the urge to call Sharon. He reminds himself to stay strong and keep fighting. “You’ve got to be there for them.”
When Victoria arrives back at the ranch, she’s delighted to see her parents together again. Nikki and Victor announce that they’re leaving for Venice. Victoria is overjoyed, convinced this marks the beginning of a wonderful new chapter.
Still at the outdoor café, Jack and Diane agree to put any thoughts of revenge on hold and spend some time appreciating life instead—even the roses that bloom in August. Jack playfully suggests they go skinny-dipping just as Kyle arrives, eager to discuss how they should strike back at Victor. “Hit him hard.” Jack and Diane exchange a knowing glance.
