Brady and Rachel sit down to breakfast at the Pub as Sarah awkwardly watches from outside, still thinking about her almost-kiss with Xander. While Rachel wonders where her mother could be, Sarah finally joins them. Rachel then worries that Kristen won’t be happy to see Sarah there when she arrives, but Kristen is nowhere to be found.
Is Sarah Having Second Thoughts?
Rachel receives a text from a friend and steps away to call her. Brady takes the opportunity to mention that he’s sensed some awkwardness from Sarah lately. Sarah immediately brushes it off, insisting it’s nothing at all. She says they’re simply entering a “new phase.” Brady agrees that Rachel is back now, but believes it’s a phase they can work through together, doesn’t he? Sarah hesitates, then gives an uncertain response.
Kristen then texts Brady to tell him she isn’t coming home, bringing the conversation to an abrupt end. (Could this really be the end of her time away?)
Marlena Throws Cold Water On Xander
Xander arrives for his session with Marlena in an unusually cheerful mood, declaring it a “beautiful morning.” Titan is about to receive its financial rescue, and he believes he’s made a breakthrough with Sarah. Everything seems to be falling into place. He enthusiastically recounts everything that happened while they were trapped in the wine cellar, but Marlena is far less excited than he expected.
She reminds Xander that what happened doesn’t necessarily mean Sarah wants to rekindle their relationship. She also points out that he still struggles with his anger and that neither of them has truly dealt with the resentment between them. Before they can continue, Marlena has to end the session early after receiving a text from Brady asking to see her.
Should Gus Trust Javi?
Javi jolts awake from a nightmare in which Leo and Dimitri confess their love before Dimitri suddenly strangles Leo. Startled, he finds Gus annoyed because he was calling Leo’s name in his sleep. Javi explains that he’s worried Leo’s life is in danger... and maybe his innocence too. (Well, perhaps that’s not exactly the right word.)
Javi insists Dimitri is dangerous, and there’s no telling what he might do to Gwen and Leo. He wants to go after them himself. Gus understands because taking action instead of standing by is simply in their nature. He reminds Javi that he uprooted his entire life for him. (Subtle, Gus.) Gus recalls how devastated Javi was when Leo left for Alamainia with Dimitri, yet despite everything, he still cares enough to travel across the world for him. Gus knows Javi would never forgive himself if anything happened to Leo, so he decides not to stop him. He trusts him.
Can Leo Save Gwen?
In Alamainia, Leo realizes Dimitri is probably holding Gwen in the very same house where she once imprisoned him. After locating the place, he comes up with a way to get inside. Meanwhile, Gwen takes a bite of her sandwich before throwing it across the room, earning herself a scolding from Dimitri. He taunts her and threatens to keep her locked up forever, but she refuses to admit she ever held him captive. Dimitri doesn’t believe her, so Gwen argues that if she really had kidnapped him, he would have uncovered proof by now.
She warns that she’s not someone to underestimate and tells Dimitri he’d better watch himself. Dimitri calmly replies that perhaps she should be the one watching out. He could always decide to take justice into his own hands. Just as he continues making threats, the doorbell rings, and he doesn’t appear surprised in the slightest. Moments later, Leo’s voice is heard before he rushes into the room and hugs Gwen as Dimitri looks on with a smile.
“I take it you found the place without too much trouble?” Dimitri says with satisfaction. Leo confirms Gwen is all right—apart from the awful food—and tells her he would travel with a concussion a thousand times over if it meant getting to her. From behind them, Dimitri asks, “What about me?”
In the Show’s Final Moments
Sarah finds Xander in the town square and suggests they should finally discuss what happened in the wine cellar. Xander pretends nothing important took place, and Sarah lets the subject drop.
Marlena rushes to the Pub and relieves Sarah after Brady shows her Kristen’s “puzzling” text. They realize they’ll have to break the news to Rachel. Both are convinced EJ is somehow involved, but they know how dangerous he is. Brady decides to bring Steve into the situation.
Javi confirms Gus is serious before hurrying off. Leo tells Dimitri he came there for Gwen—and only Gwen. Dimitri says that’s exactly what he loves about him. So Leo will be staying there with Gwen and Dimitri until he finally realizes they belong together. How sweet... or something.
