Only a week ago, *The Bold and the Beautiful*’s Sean Kanan (Deacon) shared an uplifting video about his sobriety, offering encouragement to others walking the same journey. But what followed appears to have been anything but easy. After what sounds like an incredibly difficult six days, the actor has returned with another heartfelt message—one reminding everyone that “Life is precious.”
Although Kanan didn’t reveal many specifics, he took to Instagram to share some surprising news: he was finally leaving the hospital after what appears to have been nearly a week under medical care.
“After a challenging six days,” he wrote, “including spinal surgery to eradicate a blood infection, I’m leaving the hospital. Thanks to the incredible doctors and staff at Providence Saint John’s.”
We’re certainly not medical professionals, but an infection serious enough to require both hospitalization and spinal surgery must have been an incredibly frightening ordeal. Thankfully, Kanan appears to be in excellent spirits and looking strong. In fact, he’s already talking about getting back to work on the movie he and his wife, Michele, have been making together. It seems very little can keep him down.
Even so, whatever caused the illness, spending an extended period in the hospital can be exhausting in its own right. Simply being able to return home and ease back into everyday life is another important milestone on the road to recovery. We continue wishing Kanan all the very best and hope he’s feeling completely back to himself again very soon.
