Over the years, many soap stars have put pen to paper, so to speak, and written their memoirs, and now one of the longest-running actresses on The Young and the Restless is preparing to publish hers. Jess Walton has spent nearly 40 years portraying Jill, and to mark her major milestone, the daytime veteran will release The Young and the Rest of Us on April 27, 2027 — just shy of her anniversary date.
In the upcoming “candid, intimate and star-studded memoir,” readers will get an inside look as Walton recounts her journey to “stardom, sobriety, true love and self-discovery.” Everything from her first day on the set of the CBS soap to her Daytime Emmy Awards and the “onscreen affairs, marriages, corporate takeovers, and cake fights.” But that’s not all…
Walton looks back at the “Hollywood parties fueled by limitless booze and drugs and trysts with stars” and the path that “led her to sobriety, true love” and the role of a lifetime. Fans will also be able to relate to the truths about “marriage, motherhood, empty-nesting, self-discovery and finding the courage to start over.”
