*The Bold and the Beautiful* appears to be setting up a twist that could completely reshape everything viewers believed they knew about Dylan—not only as a character, but also within the love quadrangle involving Will, Electra and R.J. If the latest tease proves true, the implications could be huge. Say it isn’t so!
At the moment, Dylan has emerged as the fan favorite among the women in the quadrangle. Viewers see chemistry between her and both Will and R.J., while many have grown frustrated with Electra’s constant complaints and tendency to make every situation about herself. Me, me, me!
But that could all be about to change if a surprising spoiler turns out to be accurate. The tease suggests that Dylan will set her sights on the Spencer family, making it sound as though she could be the latest character to undergo one of *The Bold and the Beautiful*’s abrupt personality transformations.
If the show suddenly reveals Dylan to be a calculating gold-digger, she’ll be following in the footsteps of Will, who recently developed an explosive temper seemingly out of nowhere, and Luna before him, who transformed almost overnight from a sweet aspiring fashion designer into a homicidal psychopath.
It has already been established that Dylan comes from far more modest circumstances than her wealthy friends. When viewers first met her, she was even living in the car she supposedly used to kill Luna. So it wouldn’t be unreasonable for her to long for the security and comfort that wealth could provide. Even so, deliberately targeting someone for that reason would be completely at odds with everything the audience has come to believe about her.
Dylan has been embraced as one of the genuinely good people on the canvas, someone with an honest heart. Turning her into another version of her obsessive cousin Remy would be disappointing. As noted, viewers have already watched a similar transformation with Luna, so revisiting that type of storyline so soon after her exit could leave fans feeling as though the writers are simply recycling old ideas.
We’d like to believe this is simply a misleading spoiler, but Sydney Bullock herself hinted that Dylan’s upcoming storyline would follow the trajectory of one from 2010, which many believe refers to Amber Moore’s story. So, SOAPS readers—and Dylan fans in particular—it may be time to buckle up.
