Perez Hilton, who portrayed the reverend who — much to the dismay of the Forrester family — officiated Eric and Quinn’s wedding on The Bold and the Beautiful in the fall of 2016, is currently receiving medical treatment, according to his representatives, after reports surfaced that he appeared to harm himself during a social media livestream.
“We kindly ask that you respect Perez’s privacy, as well as the privacy of his family, during this difficult time,” a statement from the blogger’s team read.
The situation is particularly notable given that the gossip columnist — born Mario Armando Lavandeira Jr. — built his career through harsh criticism of celebrities he disliked. It’s no surprise that The Insider labeled his website “Hollywood’s Most-Hated” back in 2005. The site also developed a reputation for outing, or attempting to out, public figures who were not prepared to publicly identify as members of the LGBTQ+ community.
Beyond his brief guest appearance on The Bold and the Beautiful — and, really, do viewers tune in hoping to see celebrity personalities like him or Spencer Pratt when there are countless former soap favorites many fans would rather watch? — Hilton has also appeared on numerous reality television programs, including Kathy Griffin: My Life On the D-List and Paris Hilton’s My New BFF.
In other words, even if you made an effort to avoid learning who Perez Hilton was, it would have been difficult to do so.
