Philip and Xander are celebrating with champagne in the center of the square when EJ casually approaches the two men, full of smug confidence. However, he quickly retreats after Philip laughs and reveals they’ve already made an entire year’s worth of loan payments!
Will Philip Encourage Xander to Reunite With Sarah?
Once they’re alone again, Philip admits to Xander that he was the person who locked him and Sarah inside the wine cellar. Unfortunately, his ridiculous mother ruined the whole plan! Parents really just don’t understand. Xander is thankful, though, because her interruption prevented anything from happening. According to Marlena, the timing simply isn’t right yet.
“Sounds like psychobabble to me,” Philip mutters. (Sounds like a conflict of interest to us!) The two debate whether Xander should move forward with the reunion, and Philip urges him to stop hesitating and live his life!
Did EJ Copy Gabi’s Designs?
EJ phones Rita and demands to know where the money came from, then rushes to Gabi’s office (A new office! Yes, we all know it’s familiar looking) to confront her. Gabi practically laughs in his face and confirms that she used her inheritance to rescue Titan. “What are you going to do, EJ? You gonna kill me?”
Maybe! Unfortunately, he can’t stop sneezing long enough to do it. (Um, what’s going on here?) After the sneezing finally subsides, Gabi accuses DiMera of stealing her design. EJ denies everything, ridicules her and insists Titan is still destined to go down in flames.
Holly Discovers the Truth
At the Kiriakis mansion, Holly confronts Sarah for suddenly treating her so kindly out of guilt. She demands to know whether Sarah truly believes her now. Since the change came out of nowhere, Holly wonders if Sarah is simply manipulating her into revealing the “truth.” (It’s nice to see Holly didn’t just forgive and forget!)
Sarah assures Holly that they believe her, but Holly has to keep pressing before Sarah finally explains why. She tells her the entire Coriseal story, blames EJ and insists Holly must keep the secret. Holly is horrified, while Sarah believes EJ does care about her, just not as much as he cares about himself. Even so, Holly says she needs some time alone.
What Happened to Kristen?
At the Pub, Brady and Steve discuss Kristen’s disappearance. Either she was abducted, or she’s hiding because she’s frightened of EJ. Steve suggests that could actually be a positive development! (Er…) EJ is juggling too many problems “and sooner or later, he’s got to drop one. And it’s gonna all come crashing down.”
Brady shows Steve Kristen’s final text, and Steve focuses on the au revoir. “Until we meet again.” That means she’ll return! Someday. It might even be next week! (Or not.) Still, Steve promises Rachel will be okay and insists they’ll make it through this.
Kristen Says Farewell to Rachel
Aunt Susan suddenly appears in Rachel’s room with a message from Kristen. (If that’s Susan, we’re eating her wig.) Susan says Kristen would give anything to be there and promises that everyone who loves Rachel will remain beside her until her mother returns.
“Susan” begins crying and blames the tears on a narwhal allergy. Rachel bombards her with questions about Kristen and what’s happening, and not-Susan starts making mistakes, though she refuses to drop the disguise. Rachel becomes increasingly upset until “Susan” wraps her in a huge hug from Kristen.
Can Brady Rescue Kristen?
Brady walks in and finds Susan with Rachel, then asks to speak privately with his aunt. The SECOND they’re alone, he identifies her as Kristen, and his ex immediately abandons the act. Brady demands to know what is happening. Kristen explains that EJ poses a danger to her and that she has to disappear, but she refuses to let Brady become involved.
She asks him to accept the situation and allow her to leave. Kristen promises she’ll return someday, once the danger has passed. Before going, she gives Brady a method of contacting her if Rachel faces an emergency.
How Far Is Amy Willing to Go?
Amy arrives at the Kiriakis mansion and demands to know whether Holly received the flowers she sent. Sunflowers were Sophia’s favorite. She mailed them as a reminder of what Holly did to her. “I want you to think about it every day for the rest of your life.” Amy says she is dropping the lawsuit because EJ intimidated her into doing so, but warns that Holly will still face God’s judgement.
She adds, “You will never be rid of me. I am going to be everywhere. At the grocery store. In the square. In your nightmares!” (Um, is this turning into a horror movie?) Amy vows she will never stop and will never allow Holly to forget what she did.
In the Show’s Final Moments
Just as Xander attempts to change the subject to Philip and Gabi, Sarah arrives, followed moments later by Gabi. Only Gabi joins the celebration, although Sarah thanks her for what she did for their family.
Outside the Pub, EJ contacts Rita with an urgent demand. Then Xander and Philip’s celebration abruptly ends. Xander hangs up and delivers the bad news: EJ has called in their loan. They must repay every dollar they owe before the end of the month. Otherwise, it’s over.
