At the Athletic Club, Cane overhears Matt leaving Phyllis a voicemail asking her to arrange some more sophisticated clothes for his new role at Arabesque. He also reminds her that he still needs an official job title. Noticing Cane nearby, Matt abruptly ends the call. Cane asks whether he intends to use his former company as a weapon against Victor.
Matt initially avoids answering, but Cane presses him until he responds. Matt insists he doesn’t have a plan. Cane points out that Victor must be furious after Matt moved out of the ranch and wonders why he’s still in Genoa City. Matt asks if Cane is bothered by Phyllis taking over Arabesque. Cane suggests they both lay their cards on the table.
The conversation shifts as both men admit they’re trying to leave their troubled pasts behind. Cane confesses that his actions led to people dying and caused pain for many others. Matt acknowledges that what he did to the Newmans was far worse than anything Cane has ever imagined and openly recounts his crimes.
Cane admits it’s a lot to absorb before asking why Matt refuses to leave town. Matt admits it’s hard to say no to Phyllis. Cane smiles knowingly and warns him that the Newmans are an incredibly powerful family, while Phyllis is one of the most cunning people he’ll ever meet. If she ever turns against someone, he says, life becomes unbearable. Matt insists he isn’t worried.
Confrontation
Adam irritates Sally by knocking insistently on her door. Though he begins with an apology, he quickly confronts her for telling Billy that he paid for Newman Media after she had promised to keep the deal between them. Sally argues that she had little choice. Adam complains that Billy immediately ran to Victor with the information. Sally agrees that the situation is now a disaster.
She explains that Billy only learned about Newman Media because Victoria mentioned it. Sally tried convincing Billy not to interfere, but he went straight to Victor anyway. She suggests Adam probably made it sound as though the two of them had secretly worked behind Billy’s back. “You said you were going to be able to handle your father.”
Sally remarks that just because Adam lied to her didn’t mean she was willing to lie to the man she loves. Adam raises an eyebrow before pointing out that Billy has placed her in danger by opening his mouth. He urges Sally to keep Billy under control while he tries to contain the damage. Softening his tone, Adam jokingly asks about her pregnancy cravings and checks in on the baby. The conversation is interrupted when Billy storms in shouting, “What the hell are you doing in my house?”
Adam claims they were simply wrapping up business connected to their deal. Billy assumes Victor is breathing down Adam’s neck and that he came to vent his frustration on Sally. Billy continues ranting until Adam tells him to keep quiet. Billy refuses to back down and keeps provoking him until Sally steps between them. Adam leaves, and Billy asks whether he upset her. Sally immediately snaps, “This is not about Adam. This is about you!”
Sally tears into Billy for deliberately provoking Victor simply to score points against Adam. Billy admits it felt satisfying and shrugs that Victor pushed him first. He refuses to apologize for defending her. Sally explodes, reminding him that he has reignited a conflict she never wanted. He promised to stop chasing battles with the Newmans. Didn’t he think about how this would affect her? Victor is furious now, and Spectra Charles could end up paying the price.
Surprise!
Nikki returns to the ranch after a successful shopping trip and discovers the house decorated with roses and candlelight. Victor hopes she hasn’t made any plans for the evening. He takes out the engagement ring she returned when they separated and slips it back onto her finger. “I wish you would marry me again.” Nikki beams as she replies, “I would marry you a thousand times over.”
Moments later, Nick, Michael, Abby, Claire and Victoria enter the room. Nikki rushes to embrace Nick, who reassures her that his recovery is progressing well and that spending time with family is exactly what he needs. Victor proudly announces, “We’re getting married.” Michael reveals that he’ll be officiating the ceremony. Nikki shocks everyone by announcing she can’t possibly get married—not like this.
It soon becomes clear that Nikki simply feels she has nothing appropriate to wear. Victor assures her there’s a special outfit waiting upstairs. Victoria escorts her mother away to get changed while Michael pours drinks for Abby and Claire. Victor checks in with Nick, who asks how Adam is doing. Victor admits they argued and Adam has ignored every message since. Their conversation turns to Noah’s departure, and Nick confesses that saying goodbye was especially difficult.
The family chats together until Nikki returns wearing an elegant blue gown. Victor’s eyes fill with emotion as he tells her, “You take my breath away.” Michael begins the ceremony before Victor and Nikki exchange heartfelt personal vows. Victor admits that nearly losing Nikki shattered him. Nikki tells Victor that she adores him completely and that he is her entire world. Michael then invites Victor to place the wedding ring back where it belongs before officially pronouncing them husband and wife and encouraging him to kiss the bride.
Warning Shot
At the Athletic Club, Adam notices Cane speaking with Matt and immediately approaches them. He asks whether Cane is trying to gather information about Victor and warns him that Matt’s story about changing his life is nothing more than an act. Matt replies that he has already confessed everything. Cane confirms, “All of it.” Adam warns Matt that anyone who crosses Victor eventually becomes either a useful pawn or a sworn enemy. “Take it from someone who knows.”
The Final Scenes
Back at home, Billy apologizes to Sally, but she makes it clear that an apology won’t be enough. He offers to rub her feet, only making her even angrier. Sally reminds him that she worked hard to eliminate Victor’s threat to her company, only for Billy to light the fuse all over again. “You better damn well find a way to put it out!” she says before storming out.
Meanwhile, Adam urges Matt to leave Genoa City while he still can. Matt refuses, insisting he has plenty of ways to protect himself. “I’m staying in town and I’d really appreciate it if you and your family would leave me alone.” He warns that he would hate to be forced into doing something he would later regret.
Back at the ranch, Abby raises a toast, expressing the hope that her relationship with Devon can become even half as inspiring as Victor and Nikki’s. Claire says the couple reminds her that true love really does exist. Michael follows with a toast of his own, while Victoria proudly reminds everyone how much effort she invested in making the celebration happen. Nick laughs that his sister always manages to get what she wants before standing to deliver the final speech. Looking at his parents, he says their love has always given him hope and peace because it proves that, in the end, “Love can conquer all.”
